As the valley readies for another season of growth and regeneration, and the monastery at the Holy Cross Abbey works to support new sustainability initiatives put in place, PFF has a new partner!
Picture Farmer films is pleased to announce Southern Conservation Partners as a fiscal agent for production of the film Saving Place, Saving Grace.
Southern Conservation Partners supports communities and ventures with innovative environmental initiatives that intend to defend, restore, and enhance the ecological health of the Southern US. Their impact reaches into the Shenandoah Valley with an outstanding list of allies and affiliated partner organizations, all of which are dedicated to protecting the natural beauty of the land. Among their resources, their blog series raises and reports on important issues.
Through a partnership with Picture Farmer Films, SCP offers donors the opportunity to make tax deductible donations to the documentary. What this means is that our supporters can make donations and choose an ecology– or a theology-focused organization to support the film. Either choice will help put the monastery’s sustainability efforts into focus.
In closing, we enter the spring season with enthusiasm for the possibilities of new growth–in thought and action. A quote from Laudato Si,(2015) by Pope Francis, frames an idea we can all ponder and consider embracing: “Nature cannot be regarded as something separate from ourselves or as a mere settling in which we live. We are part of nature, included in it and thus in constant interaction with it.”
